The purpose of this project is to create a conceptual framework grounded in a caring relationship that provides nutritious, economic, and efficient noon meals to 200 to 400 homeless people at an inner city church kitchen. Awareness of the concerns of the church kitchen coordinator and the needs of the homeless population provided the motivation to explore comprehensive and effective solutions through a conceptual framework. The typical menus from the inner city church kitchen and the research articles both showed the meal programs were fairly nutritious but high in total calories and low in dairy products.
