Abstract
Background: Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) requires initial and continuous patient education for lifelong management due to the complexity of the disease. However, diabetes education is not very well-supported in the office setting due to the providers’ limited time per patient. However, with the aid of technology-based intervention, patients can be more supported and educated, leading to better T2DM control.
Aims: The purpose of this scholarly project was to evaluate the effectiveness of diabetes education through tele-coaching in patients with T2DM for improved self-care and clinical outcomes, including hemoglobin A1c (A1c) and body mass index (BMI).

Objective: Invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) is lifesaving and one of the most common interventions implemented in the intensive care unit (ICU). More than half of the patients in the ICU require IMV within the first 24 hours after ICU admission. This project aimed to evaluate and predict the mortality rate of hospitalized patients on IMV by examining their risk factors, such as patient demographic characteristics, disease status, social environment, and discharge status.
Methods: The National Inpatient Sample (NIS) database 2016 was used to identify patients requiring IMV. Mortality was the dependent variable. Independent variables had four major categories. First, patients’ …

It continues to be a significant risk factor for cardiovascular disease and strokes, the leading causes of death in the United States (Mills, Stefanescu, & He, 2020). The epidemic of diabetes and its complications is concerning, and new approaches need to be explored for fostering better patient outcomes in a cost effective way. This exploratory study examined the effectiveness of a group coaching model on glycemic control, diabetes knowledge, diabetes empowerment, and diabetes self-management compared to usual care or participation in a 90-minute diabetes education class. A convenience sample of 34 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus was recruited at a clinic providing services to the uninsured.
