Preparing nursing students to care for the ever-growing aging population with memory impairment is vital. This research study aimed to determine the prevalence of knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) among Baccalaureate nursing students. A descriptive correlational design was used to determine the prevalence of AD knowledge among juniors in an Adult I course and seniors in a Mental Health nursing course. A cross-sectional design was used to collect data using the Alzheimer’s Disease Knowledge Scale (ADKS). A convenience sample of 63 student cohorts completed the survey. Since 2003, the World Health Organization (WHO) has identified working in interdisciplinary teams as a critical factor in providing patient-centered care. Simulationenhanced interprofessional education (Sim-IPE) has shown improved knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors of teamwork required to improve patient outcomes. The purpose of this project was to determine whether a simulation-based interprofessional education day would improve these factors in senior allied health students in a small community college. There is a vast amount of literature related to teaching-learning strategies such as audience response systems (ARS) in academia, but little research on ARS use in nursing classes outside of academia. Nursing students have described clinical experiences as being stressful, yet the application of classroom knowledge to the clinical health care setting is a requirement. The purpose of this mixed-method study is to compare students’ perceptions of the peer mentoring leadership experience (PMLE) and the student charge nurse experience (SCNE). The PMLE was piloted at a southeastern community college’s associate degree nursing (ADN) program. Hand-selected PMLE second-year nursing students (n=5) were paired with hand-selected PMLE first-year nursing students (n=5) for medical/surgical clinical rotations. The aim is to determine if participation in a high-fidelity simulation increases student levels of self-confidence. Thirty-eight first year associate degree nursing students enrolled in a medical-surgical course in a southeastern community college participated in a diabetes simulation as part of their course. Students then voluntarily completed a survey indicating self-confidence following the simulation. Descriptive statistics were used to determine the overall mean of student responses to each question on the National League for Nursing (NLN) Student Satisfaction and Self Confidence in Learning Tool. The purpose of this quantitative study was to determine if Assessment Technologies Institute's (ATI) comprehensive predictor accurately predicts student results on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) for graduates of an Associate Degree nurse program at a community college in the Northwestern part of North Carolina. The study was also used to determine the feasibility of the School of Nursing (SON) continuing to purchase the ATI standardized testing products for student use. The purpose of this study was to identify and examine the effects of high-fidelity simulation on the knowledge of second semester associate degree nursing students at a small community college. The research question addressed was: Does high-fidelity simulation increase the knowledge level of second semester ADN students. Researcher developed pre and post tests were used to measure the effects of the simulation on the students' knowledge level. The occurrence of medication errors is a problem that is common to health care systems worldwide. There has been countless research performed to try to determine the cause of medication errors. It has been found that shifts worked, pharmacy involvement, miscommunication and multiple other elements contribute to the occurrence of medication errors.
