An academic nurse educator with a high level of socio-emotional competence (SEC) can create an inviting learning environment that promotes the highest level of achievement from students. The purpose of this two-group pretest-posttest experimental study was to determine the extent of effectiveness of socio-emotional intelligence education and a reflection-guided professional development plan in improving the socio-emotional competence of academic nurse educators. The Bar-On emotional social intelligence (ESI) conceptual model and the Purkey invitational theory were frameworks used to guide the study. Objectives: This umbrella review aimed to consolidate the evidence base on the impact of high-fidelity simulation on knowledge and performance among undergraduate nursing students. Design: Umbrella review with meta-analyses of pooled effect sizes, followed by an additional meta-analysis of primary studies from the included systematic reviews, excluding overlapping results. Data sources: Systematic searches were performed up to August 2023 in PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library. We included reviews that compared high-fidelity simulation against other learning strategies. Approximately ten percent of pediatric hospitalizations are for a primary mental or behavioral health condition (Canvara & Johnson, 2020). Nurses are in an excellent position to teach the public about skin cancer prevention and perform cancer screenings. This study was designed to test an educational intervention intended to teach nursing students about skin cancer so they can reach competence and be certified by faculty to educate their patients. Similarly, students are educated and certified in other areas, namely asthma and naloxone administration. By conducting this quasi-experimental study, the researchers sought to evaluate the effectiveness of adding online skin cancer education to traditional educational methods. BACKGROUND: RNs practicing in primary care (PC) increase access to health care and contribute to better patient outcomes and cost savings, yet undergraduate nursing education traditionally focuses on disease-oriented care. This article describes a curricular track for infusing PC prelicensure programs.
METHOD: PC content is threaded across four semesters with targeted assignments and clinical experiences. Providing clinical immersion experiences with practicing RNs as preceptors in community and PC settings is a key component of this initiative.
RESULTS: Student feedback has been favorable. Students stated they gained insight to the role of RNs in PC through class assignments and clinical rotations. …

Untethered Lecture Capture (ULC) is a teaching method facilitating student classroom engagement while simultaneously creating audiovisual lecture capture (LC) resources. This single-site, convergent parallel mixed-methods study qualitatively described how nursing students with attrition risk factors perceived ULC influenced learning and quantified how such students utilized LC. Study participants (N = 28) reported watching most LC resources (57.1%) and 42.9% watched entire LC videos from start to finish. Qualitative findings produced new evidence about untethered faculty proximity in the classroom and ULC techniques supporting in-class focus and post-class self-paced learning efficiencies. Debriefing for Meaningful Learning (DML) is a method of debriefing grounded in the theory of reflection used following a simulation or clinical learning experience to engage participants in an interactive dialogue aimed at examining and evaluating their thinking and decision-making processes. With increasing adoption of DML worldwide, a sustainable training program for nurse educators is needed. The Debriefing Experience Scale (DES) is a tool that is used to explore nursing students’ subjective experiences during a debriefing and to help determine best debriefing practices. A Chinese version of the scale has not been found; its development can enhance learning in simulation activites in Chinese healthcare education programs.
Methods
A simplified Chinese version of the DES was developed and tested using 34 Chinese undergraduate (second year) nursing students. They participated in six simulation scenarios and debriefings. Severe under-representation of Black women academic nurse leaders persists in United States higher education, and a major research gap still exists regarding experiences of these leaders, and facilitators of and barriers to their success. Our objective was to examine how race and gender influence how Black women academic nurse leaders’ function in their leadership positions, how they are perceived by their peers, and how their perception of race, gender, class, and power influences diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in the workplace. Background: Undergraduate nursing students report experiencing high levels of stress, which may negatively affect academic, personal, and professional outcomes. Resilience has been found to mitigate the effects of high, prolonged stress. Specifically, nursing students who engaged in a program to enhance resilience had positive outcomes related to themselves, others, and their nursing program.
Purpose: The purpose of this project was to implement and evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and value of an evidence-based resilience program, Changing Minds, Changing Lives, designed to reduce nursing student stress levels by building resilience and increasing use of positive coping strategies.

This quality improvement project was completed to show that a formal lung transplant education course for nurses caring for lung transplant patients increased their knowledge. An eight-hour education course was developed by experts in the field of lung transplantation. A pretest was administered before the education course. A posttest was administered to determine if knowledge was improved. A three-month follow-up test was administered to determine knowledge retention. Based on the data analysis, nurse knowledge improved after formal education. Item analysis determined what areas of educational content need to be the focus of quarterly education. The current pandemic has required a quick response to the unprecedented suspension of face-to-face instruction in higher education worldwide. This study evaluated the effect of high-fidelity simulation with both mannequins and live actors on flexible and reflective thinking of nursing students. Students enrolled in an undergraduate nursing program were recruited to participate in this study. Ninety students, all female, completed both pre- and post-surveys. The researchers conducted a paired samples t-test to determine if there is a statistically significant difference in students’ level of flexible thinking before and after they experienced the high-fidelity simulation. Moreover, we conducted multivariate correlational analysis to examine the relationships between flexible thinking and reflective thinking. Over the years, there has been an ever-increasing spotlight on the issue of bullying among adolescents. Nurses are another adult-figure, in addition to parents and teachers, that can help identify and address bullying if educated properly. The purpose of this study was to examine pediatric bullying education in Arkansas baccalaureate nursing programs.
