The purpose of this project was to reduce stress levels of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by teaching them mindfulness practices and education on free and accessible methods to integrate mindfulness into their daily lives, as well as the benefits of mindfulness in reducing stress and improving psychological well-being.

This evidence-based pilot (EBP) project was implemented to decrease stress among employees who work in a financial-based occupational health setting. According to the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Stress in America online survey, 64% of survey-respondents reported that work is a significant source of stress (2018). Background: Depression rates among Iraqi refugees are between 28.3 and 75% compared to 8.6% in the general population (Slewa-Younan, Guajardo, Heriseanu, & Hasan, 2015).
