Teaching and maintenance of standards of nursing care are indeed a responsibility of the clinical instructor. If she is to do effective instruction of the student's clinical experience, she needs to know what factors are influencing the student's performance as a result of her presence.

The significance of the student's reactions to various educational experiences has been receiving increasing recognition during the last several years. This study was conducted to identify factors from nursing students' opinions concerning what clinical instructors do that influence effective student performance. These factors have been outlined for use in planning more effective clinical instructions.

A Study Of The Utilization Of Nursing Personnel On A Selected Hospital Unit, Lucille Mcdow

This study was concerned with utilization of nursing personnel on a selected hospital unit. The purposes of the study were to: (1) show if the department was overstaffed or understaffed, (2) Indicate if there were too many students for the size of the department, (3) show how adjustments could he made within the department to equalize the nursing care provided to patients, and (4) see if it were possible to predict the proper number of personnel needed for optimum service.
