Sepsis affects hundreds of millions of patients across the world within various healthcare settings. Sepsis protocols vary between health systems and institutions which can lead to the lack of prompt client intervention. Each one hour delay in administration of antibiotics is associated with an 8% decrease in survival (Rhodes et al., 2017). The vision for this project is to explore the potential benefits of implementing a standardized national sepsis protocol. For this EBP project a PICO question was formulated.
