The present capstone project and experience aimed to develop and implement a 12-week program of social skills peer groups for school-aged children with autism at an outpatient pediatric therapy clinic. The program consisted of weekly peer group sessions targeting a range of social skill topics, such as emotional regulation, conversation skills, and collaborative play. The small group format provided an opportunity for participants to practice skills, learn from others, and obtain feedback on their performance within a supportive environment. This presentation will explain the historical development of pornography. It will highlight four segments: 1- Porn’s impact on brain development of reward pathways, ultimately increasing the appetite for more porn. 2- Porn can be a false substitute for real intimacy, resulting in decreased sexual satisfaction with a real person and increased verbal and physical aggression. 3- Porn promotes sex trafficking, promotes multiple sex partners and reduced STD prevention. 4- A review of interventions available to assist clients in navigating a lifestyle away from pornography.

Introduction: Schizophrenia is a complex mental illness that arises from a combination of genetic factors, brain chemistry, substance use and environmental factors that affects the way a person behaves, thinks, and perceives. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a chronic psychiatric illness that is commonly diagnosed in children and is characterized by attention problems and hyperactive tendencies. Patients with ADHD have multiple treatment options including behavioral therapy and psychostimulants. There is some evidence that clinicians have started to prescribe stimulants at a much higher rate. The results of this critical analysis were varied, but all studies concluded that behavioral therapy is a successful treatment modality for ADHD patients.

Opioid Use Disorder is patterns of opioid use leading to withdrawal, giving up important life events in order to use opioids, and excessive time spent using opioids, to name a few diagnostic criteria. The clinical progression of the disorder involves periods of acute exacerbation and remission that are cyclic in nature. Treatment is most effective when it includes both pharmacological and psychosocial modalities, referred to as medication assisted therapy (MAT). Three drugs used commonly in MAT-based treatment for OUD from oldest to newest include Methadone, Buprenorphine-naloxone, and Naltrexone.
