Former Children’s Mercy CEO Rand O’Donnell, PhD, and his wife, Melva, are establishing an endowed chair position that will be awarded to Ahmed Abdelmoity, MD, FAAP, Division Director of Child Neurology, Section Chief of Epilepsy and Neurophysiology. Dr. Abdelmoity will become our 31st endowed chair at Children’s Mercy.

This paper takes a look at the relevance of the five laws of library and information science in the management of health records library. The paper differentiated between a record and a health records. Telehealth has proven to be a growing sector providing on-demand health services for consumers. A long history of development and refinement precede what we now know as telehealth technology. Access to telehealth technology has become widely available changing the landscape of healthcare. However, does that mean that consumers desire to use the technology? How does a factor such as health status play a role in the consumers’ willingness to encounter a provider using telehealth as the method for delivery of care? This research project aims to compare self-selected health status to consumers’ willingness to engage with telehealth services.

Objectives: The purposes of this study were to determine whether the sepsis screening tool increased the usage of sepsis order set and whether the tool improved the primary outcomes. This study assessed the association between using sepsis order set and the compliance of the SEP-1 measure (represented by achieving total perfect care), and the primary outcomes. Residents of Mississippi ranks poorly in most health indicators, including Infectious Disease, Infant Mortality, Clinic Care, Obesity, Diabetes, and Premature Death.

Immunization screening forms are completed for each patient that is to be vaccinated in the pharmacy. Screening forms contain demographic and health questions, which are used to determine if a patient is contraindicated to receive a vaccine. The objective is to determine if patient responses to questions on these forms can be used to identify potential vaccine indications. De-identified data was retrospectively collected from 11 community pharmacies in California and Michigan that included basic demographics, answers to immunization screening questions, and vaccine(s) administered during that visit. Health Records Officers’ Act was promulgated formally by Decree No. 39 of 1989 (HROA; 1989) now CAP 166 LFN1990. The Decree establishes a Board for general administration of the profession of Health Records management in Nigeria. The paper which was a desk top study discovered the constitutional requirements for the Health information practices and implementation strategies as stipulated by the Act. This study assesses organizational and market factors related to high-tech service differentiation in local hospital markets. The sample includes 1704 nonfederal, general acute hospitals in urban counties in the United States. We relate organizational and market factors in 2011 to service differentiation in 2013, using ordinary least squares regression. Data are compiled from the American Hospital Association Annual Survey of Hospitals, Area Resource File, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Results show that hospitals differentiate more services relative to market rivals if they are larger than the rival and if the hospitals are further apart geographically. This purpose of this study is to quantify potential cost savings and member care improvements as a result of engagement through BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee’s (BCBST) Identification and Stratification (IDStrat) process. Commercial members engaged in clinical management that were identified through IDStrat were compared to commercial members identified through other means across several metrics including per-member, per-month (PMPM) cost and physician visits. Members identified by IDStrat experienced a statistically significant 7% greater reduction in costs after being engaged when compared with those identified by other methods. Because a problem list is generated once and then subsequently modified or updated, what is not usually observable is the provider-effect. Problem/Impact Statement: The pharmacists in Scarborough & Westbrook Primary Care conduct Medicare Annual Wellness Visits (AWVs) with a physician. The pharmacist and physician see the patient individually. The practices achieved and sustained FY18 Joint AWV volume goals through a new process to reschedule physician-only AWVs to Joints AWVs with a pharmacist. This leads to reschedule rework and reduced time practice staff have for patient care.

Background: Carbon dioxide levels can be monitored throughout the respiratory cycle via capnography. In this way, capnography allows healthcare professionals to follow several respiratory factors in real-time, including respiratory depression, apnea, and hypercapnia. Postoperative patients are subjected to significant harm while receiving sedating medications without appropriate monitoring and intervention. Earlier detection of alterations to ventilation status will better enable providers to more accurately dose medications during procedures, especially in high-risk patient populations.

The aim of this systematic review was to evaluate the current evidence by assessing the effectiveness of integrative neuromuscular training programs in injury prevention and sports performance in young athletes. Different data sources were analyzed up to January 2018. Eligible studies contained information on population (young athletes), intervention (neuromuscular training), comparator (control group or another exercise intervention), outcomes (injury prevention or sport performance), and study design (randomized trials or prospective studies). The trials were restricted based on the language (English) and for publication date (after 1 January 2007). It is estimated that 65% of the population are visual learners. With that in mind, a team of cardiac nurses in a large academic tertiary hospital developed a quality improvement project to hopefully improve patient engagement as well the patients’ perception that the nurses explained things in a manner that they could understand.

Baseline patient survey scores for the question, “Nurses Explained Things In A Way That I Understand”, were under the 75^thpercentile for a period of 9 months. A root cause analysis was conducted and it demonstrated numerous reasons for this score.

At a large academic tertiary medical center, an Integrated Medication Assisted Treatment (IMAT) program has been established for those medically stable inpatients with an addiction diagnosis. Over a four month period, this program had experienced a decline in attendance and a quality improvement project was initiated is to better understand the barriers to attendance and institute a process that would reverse the decline.

A goal was established to improve attendance by medically stable patients that have consented to participate to a minimum of 50%.

A team in a large academic tertiary teaching hospital set about leveraging their daily managing system (DMS) to attain improvement in their institution’s safety.
