Validity And Reliability Of The Clinician Rated Drop Vertical Jump Scale In Patients Following Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction, Morgan Jennings

Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Clinician Rated Drop Vertical Jump Scale (CR-DVJS) in a population of patients following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR). Patients completed two drop vertical jump tasks at 6 and/or 12-months post-operative. One task was recorded using a motion capture system. Four individuals of varying clinical experience served as raters for the CR-DVJS. Rater scores of valgus collapse did not correlate strongly with motion capture measures of knee abduction moment or angle. However, CR-DVJS scores of trunk and knee flexion did demonstrate an association with 3D measures of …

BACKGROUND A script concordance test
(SCT) is a modality for assessing clinical
reasoning. Concerns had been raised about
the plausible validity threat to SCT scores if
students deliberately avoided the extreme
answer options to obtain higher scores. The
aims of the study were firstly to investigate
whether students’ avoidance of the extreme
answer options could result in higher scores,
and secondly to determine whether a
‘balanced approach’ by careful construction of
SCT items (to include extreme as well as
median options as model responses) would
improve the validity of an SCT.
METHODS Using the paired sample t-test, the
actual average …

Reliability And Validity Of The Turkish Version Of Thefoot Function Index In Patients With Foot Disorders, Bahar Külünkoğlu, Nesli̇han Firat, Nazim Tolgahan Yildiz, Afra Alkan

Turkish Journal of Medical Sciences

Background/aim: The Foot Function Index (FFI) is a valid, reliable, and widely used self-reported questionnaire for the foot. The purpose of this study was to provide evidence for the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the FFI (FFI-TR) among patients with foot disorders such as plantar fasciitis, hallux valgus, pes planus, and hammertoe deformities. Materials and methods: One hundred and fifty-nine patients with foot disorders were enrolled. The psychometric properties of the previously translated and adapted FFI-TR were assessed. The internal consistency and test-retest reliability were evaluated. Construct validity was examined for correlations with the Short Form-36 (SF-36) …
