An Electromyography Study Of Muscular Endurance During The Posterior Shoulder Endurance Test, Neil A. Evans, Emily Dressler, Tim Uhl
An Electromyography Study Of Muscular Endurance During The Posterior Shoulder Endurance Test, Neil A. Evans, Emily Dressler, Tim Uhl
Physical Therapy Faculty Research
The primary purpose was to determine if there is a difference between the median frequency slopes of 5 posterior shoulder muscles during the initial portion of the Posterior Shoulder Endurance Test (PSET) at the 90⁰ and 135⁰ shoulder abduction positions.
Fifty-five healthy volunteers (31 females) participated. The median frequency of the posterior deltoid (PD), upper trapezius (UT), middle trapezius (MT), lower trapezius (LT), and infraspinatus (INF) was measured during the PSET at 90⁰ and 135⁰ of shoulder abduction. External torque of 13±1 Nm was used for females and 21±1 Nm for males. A fixed effect multi-variable regression model was used …

The primary purpose was to determine if there is a difference between the median frequency slopes of 5 posterior shoulder muscles during the initial portion of the Posterior Shoulder Endurance Test (PSET) at the 90° and 135° shoulder abduction positions. Fifty-five healthy volunteers (31 females) participated. The median frequency of the posterior deltoid (PD), upper trapezius (UT), middle trapezius (MT), lower trapezius (LT), and infraspinatus (INF) was measured during the PSET at 90° and 135° of shoulder abduction. Descriptive Report Of The Impact Of Fatigue And Current Management Strategies In Cerebral Palsy., Laura K Brunton
Descriptive Report Of The Impact Of Fatigue And Current Management Strategies In Cerebral Palsy., Laura K Brunton
Physical Therapy Publications
Purpose: Describe the impact of fatigue and self-management practices for adolescents and young adults with cerebral palsy (CP).
Methods: Survey of 124 people with CP with the Fatigue Impact and Severity Self-Assessment (FISSA).
Results: People in GMFCS Level I experienced little impact of fatigue with high proportions of this group disagreeing to statements about fatigue impacting their general activities, mobility and social activities. People in GMFCS Levels II-V reported impact of fatigue on activities. Differences between groups were evident in questions related to fatigue interference with length of time for physical activity and with motivations to participate in social …
Change In Knee Flexor Torque After Fatiguing Exercise Identifies Previous Hamstring Injury In Football Players, Cameron Lord, Fadi Ma'ayah, Anthony J. Blazevich
Change In Knee Flexor Torque After Fatiguing Exercise Identifies Previous Hamstring Injury In Football Players, Cameron Lord, Fadi Ma'ayah, Anthony J. Blazevich
Research outputs 2014 to 2021
Muscular fatigue and interlimb strength asymmetry are factors known to influence hamstring injury risk; however, limb‐specific exacerbation of knee flexor (hamstrings) torque production after fatiguing exercise has previously been ignored. To investigate changes in muscular force production before and after sport‐specific (repeated‐sprint) and non‐specific (knee extension‐flexion) fatiguing exercise, and explore the sensitivity and specificity of isokinetic endurance (ie, muscle‐specific) and single‐leg vertical jump (ie, whole limb) tests to identify previous hamstring injury. Twenty Western Australia State League footballers with previous unilateral hamstring injury and 20 players without participated. Peak concentric knee extensor and flexor (180°∙s−1) torques were …
