Effects Of Exercise On Cardiopulmonary Function In Patients With Obstructive Sleep Apnea: A Systematic Review And Meta-Analysis, Jiale Peng, Hong Ren

International Journal of Physical Activity and Health

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common sleep disorder characterized by repeated episodes of apnea and hypopnea during sleep. Snoring and daytime sleepiness are the most common manifestations of OSA. Patients with OSA are considered to have poor cardiopulmonary function. Exercise has been proposed as a treatment for OSA that could lower apnea hypopnea indices (AHI) and improve sleep quality. Study shows that constantly aerobic exercise improved cardiopulmonary function in patients with chronic heart failure. However, whether exercise training will benefit cardiopulmonary functioning in patients with OSA is still in doubt. The purpose of this review is to investigate the …

10-Minute Ebd: Digital Scans Or Conventional Impressions: Which Results In Better Crowns?, Laura Tsu Dds

The Journal of the Michigan Dental Association

This 10-Minute EBD column critically evaluates the outcomes of digital scans versus conventional impressions in fabricating single-unit crowns, focusing on factors such as marginal and internal fit. Employing a PICO question and a literature search pathway via PubMed, the analysis includes systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Findings suggest that crowns from digital scans generally exhibit clinically acceptable marginal and internal fit, often outperforming conventional impressions. However, heterogeneity in study samples and methodologies contributes to varied results. While digital scans meet the standard of care, ongoing research is essential for a comprehensive understanding of the evolving landscape in digital prosthodontics.

Livin’ On A Prayer: An Analysis Of Intercessory Prayer Studies, Savannah Vincent

Dialogue & Nexus

A meta-analysis of intercessory prayer studies was done. Current studies fail to account for the numerous variables and limitations posed by these studies; nevertheless, it is possible to reach the conclusion that the prospect of prayer as an alternative medicine is, at best, limited. The boundaries of faith and science need to be respected. The essential takeaway from this discussion is to look deeper into what sounds like simple and well-designed scientific studies on faith. These studies are often either inconclusive or have varying results when compared to similar studies.
