Complete buccal crossbite is rare and difficult to be treated either orthodontically or surgically. This article presents an adult patient with bilateral Class II molar relationship and complete buccal crossbite at the right premolars region. She was treated with four bicuspids extraction along with upper buccal and palatal TADs as well as cross elastics in order to achieve well-aligned dentition. The buccal crossbite was corrected and and good profile was achieved.

Unilateral posterior crossbite case is quite complicated and difficult for orthodontist. The etiology may include any combination of dental, skeletal and neuromuscular functional components. This case is a 23 years old female with severe class II skeletal pattern and right side posterior teeth complete buccal crossbite. With the aid of TADs (temporary anchorage device) and full coverage biting plate, unilateral posterior buccal crossbite was corrected in an efficient way. Without an orthognathic surgery, the results of good dentition control in vertical direction and large amount of overjet reduction can still be obtained.

The Relation Between Maxillary Molar Intrusion By Using Mini-Implants And The Change Of Mandibular Plane In Hyperdivergent Skeletal Class Ii Patients, Ya-Ying Teng, Eric Jein-Wein Liou

Purpose: To investigate the relation between the change of mandibular plane and maxillary molar intrusion with mini-implants. Materials and Methods: Twenty-eight consecutive adult patients with skeletal Class II, retrognathic mandible and high mandibular plane were included (mean age: years). They were treated with 4 premolar extractions and mini-implants for maxillary molar intrusion. The pre-treatment (T0) and post-treatment (T1) lateral cephalograms were traced and superimposed to measure the changes of parameters. Pearson correlation coefficient was calculated to determine the correlation between the molar intrusion and the change of mandibular plane. Results: The upper molars were intruded mm. The lower molars were …
