Antimicrobial Efficacy Of Different Root Canal Irrigants In Primary Teeth: Clinical Study, Nada H. Elmenbawy, Ahmed H. Wahba, Doaa Masallat, Salwa Awad

Mansoura Journal of Dentistry

Objective: Evaluation of antibacterial efficacy of 2.5% Sodium Hypochlorite (NaOCl), 3.8% Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF), and 25% water-soluble extract of Propolis as root canal irrigants in primary molars. Materials and Methods: Thirty primary molars with a necrotic pulp of children in the age group 4-7 years were selected and divided into 3 groups randomly based on the irrigating solution used. In group A, 2.5% NaOCl was used as a positive control group. In groups B and C, 3.8% SDF and 25% water-soluble extract of Propolis were used respectively. The bacterial samples were collected pre-and post-irrigation using paper points and transferred …

Microtensile Bond Strength Of Resin Modified Glass Ionomer Restoration In Carious Primary Molars Pretreated With Silver Diamine Fluoride, Weaam I. El-Tantawy, Noha A. El-Wassefy, Abeer M. Abdellatif

Mansoura Journal of Dentistry

Objective: To evaluate microtensile bond strength of resin modified glass ionomer restoration in carious primary molars pretreated with silver diamine fluoride. Materials and Methods: forty carious primary molars were collected and divided into two equal groups (n=20) as the following: (Group I) the microtensile bond strength testing group and (Group II) the control group. Each main group subdivided into two subgroups (n=10): (Group I a) the microtensile testing comprised group of no caries excavation and (Group I b) group with caries excavation. (Group II a) the control comprised group of no caries excavation and(Group II b) group of caries excavation. The …

Comparison Of Self-Assembling Peptide With Different Remineralizing Agents On Demineralized Primary Molars: In-Vitro Study, Sara M. Elmitwalli, Rasha I. Ramadan, Salwa M. Awad

Mansoura Journal of Dentistry

Objective: Evaluating the remineralization potential of Self assembling peptide (P11-4), Nano-hydroxyapatite (Nano-HA) and Casein Phosphopeptide-Amorphous Calcium Phosphate-Fluoride (CPP-ACPF) using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy dispersive X-ray Analysis (EDX). Materials and Methods: Forty enamel specimens of primary second molar were prepared and immersed in demineralizing solution for 96 hours to induce artificial carious lesions. Specimens were divided randomly according to remineralizing agents into four equal groups. The groups were named group A: control group (artificial saliva), group B: P11-4, group C: Nano-HA paste and group D: CPP-ACPF. Remineralization was carried out for a period of 21 days. Calcium and Phosphorous …

Comparison Of Emla Cream Versus Mucosal Vibration Or Pre-Cooling Systems As Topical Anesthetic Agents In Children, Esraa M. Eissa, Ahmed H. Wahba, Salwa M. Awad

Mansoura Journal of Dentistry

Objective: Comparing EMLA cream versus mucosal vibration or pre-cooling systems as preanesthetic techniques to reduce pain associated with dental injection in children. Materials and Methods: Fifty children categorized as positive or definitely positive according to Frankl scale (behavior rating scale) and aged from 5-7 years were selected. They were indicated for bilateral inferior alveolar nerve block for dental treatment and selected from the pediatric dental clinic, Faculty of Dentistry, Mansoura University. Children were randomly divided into two equal groups, in which the injection site was prepared using mucosal vibration with electric tooth brush in group (A) and pre-cooling with iced …
