• The Delta variant is nearly twice as contagious as previous variants.

• Some data suggest the Delta variant might cause more severe illness than previous strains in unvaccinated persons.
• Unvaccinated people remain the greatest concern.

• The greatest risk of transmission is among unvaccinated people who are much more likely to contract, and therefore transmit the virus.

Background: The lack of leadership support and research knowledge are reported barriers nurses experience in conducting hospital-based research.

Purpose/aims: The purpose was to determine if nursing leadership's knowledge and support of nursing research could be improved through an interactive intervention and to identify their research needs.

Methods/Approach: Design: A translational research study (Doctor of Nursing Practice project) utilizing the Barriers to Nurses' Participation in Research Questionnaire was conducted. Sample: The sample consisted of an even distribution of managers/assistant managers, charge nurses, and directors/chief nursing operating officers. Background: The COVID-19 pandemic disproportionately impacts Spanish-speaking communities. COVID-19-related health information is overall more available in English than Spanish. From May to August 2020, Spanish COVID-19-related resources on our institution’s website had an average of 2954 views/month compared to 48573 views/month to the English COVID-19-related resources.


Objective:
Our project aim was to increase the percent of page views for Spanish COVID-19-related resources on our institution’s website from 5.7% of the total views to the COVID-19-related pages, to 20% from September 2020 through June 2021.

Problem: Despite efforts to improve organizational metrics for nurse satisfaction and retention, nurse manager satisfaction/retention remains a challenge for many hospitals.

Purpose: This study sought to explore factors that impact nurse manager satisfaction/retention by implementing an intervention that could positively influence work life balance, thereby improving satisfaction and retention in areas with high nurse manager turnover.

Patient compliance with medication instructions on day of surgery (DOS) is an important part of the preoperative assessment, as failure to comply with these may lead to serious perioperative consequences. Prior studies have shown that compliance increases with multimodal interventions. However due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, many in-person visits transitioned to telephone visits and providers had to rely on patients to follow solely verbal instructions.

The lack of research on healthcare staff experience and interior design of the spaces they work in is evident. A focus on staff perspective is needed, particularly staff who navigated the COVID-19 pandemic. This research seeks to capture those stories to develop further research in order to improve staff experience. The initial phase of this mixed-methods approach is a survey. Hypothetically, by placing providers at the center of qualitative research related to healthcare interior design, we can better understand existing healthcare spaces. COVID-19 vaccination, especially, in children has been a point of both political and scientific contention since its inception. The purpose of this project was to qualitatively assess patients' perceptions on COVID-19 vaccination for children between the ages of 5-11 years old using survey data. Understanding our patient's perceptions on why they may or may not support vaccination may guide how we approach discussing the topic. One in seven homes in Vermont has elevated levels of radon, but most patients are unaware of radon as a risk factor for lung cancer or that radon testing and mitigation services are available to them.
