Two-hundred and sixty-five routine periapical radiographs of mandibular mesioangular impacted third molars from one-hundred and ninety-seven patients between 25-34 and 35-60 years of age were used to study the influence of the relative depth of these impacted molars on mandibular second molars. The result of this study in the first group of a patient showed no significant difference between the first and the second relative depth of impacted molars on mandibular second molars (p>0.05). But the latter group, the second relative depth of impacted molars showed significant influence on mandibular second molars more than the first one (p<0.05), especially on the supporting tissue distal to the mandibular second molars.
