The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of two citric acid application techniques on cementum slabs in vitro. Eight extracted periodontally involved canine teeth were used. Two cementum slabs were obtained from the root of each tooth for each technique after they were scaled and root planed. Each slab was grooved to devided in to two parts, one for citric acid application and one for control. Citric acid (pH 1) was applied to sixteen cementum slabs for 3 minutes with two techniques: light application and rubbing techniques. All slabs were fixed in paraformaldehyde 4%, prepared for SEM …
