In a descriptive correlational study, three predictors of appointment keeping behaviors of adults who attend general medical clinics in a primary health care setting were explored. The three selected predictors from the Health Belief Model, a preventive health behavior model, were: (a) perceived barriers to health care, (b) health locus of control (HLC), and (c) satisfaction with health care. The purpose of this study was to identify the predictive value of multiple variables for a specific health-related behavior.
