Limited access to healthcare services is a factor that can reduce quality of care, and it is more pronounced in rural settings. One plausible solution to this concern is telemedicine, the use of electronic information and telecommunication technologies to provide care when an individual and provider are not in the same location. The purpose of this research is to find ways to increase Medicaid collections in order to promote citizens’ access to government sponsored programs. This research paper is written to observe which variables increase reimbursement funds that will be reinjected into Medicaid and Public Assistance programs. The study looks at client and law firm characteristics such as the settlement amount, the client’s age, how long the case has been open in the MAESTRO system for, the client’s borough of residence, and the defending law firm’s location to identify if any of these characteristics influence the amount of recoupment. Designing an assisted living facility with the client in mind. This project aims to create a space which encourages growth and progression for its residents by focusing on community, access to nature, sunlight, open spaces, increased living space, and flex spaces.

By working with the existing community and by emphasizing a program which focuses on the physical and mental needs of the residents, this building seeks to inspire and allow the residents to pursue their passions a manner that honors who they are and what they require.

Sexual minority individuals are a vulnerable population. Historically this has led to worse access to care and worse health outcomes compared to heterosexual individuals; this can be addressed through changes to practice. Patient satisfaction has also been a health care focus in recent years for all patients. This project examined patient satisfaction in a small university-associated primary care center and compared patient satisfaction scores for sexual minorities to heterosexual respondents. This was conducted after a series of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) educational initiatives with center staff. A total of 73 individuals chose to participate. This research investigated the working alliance between therapist and client at RiverView Clinic, an outpatient mental health center. Utilizing data captured by the Working Alliance Inventory-Short Revised (WAI-SR), the research posited the following:

  • median total scores from therapist’s would be higher than median scores of the working alliance from clients
  • clients who presented with mild to moderate concerns would have higher working alliance scores than clients who reported moderate to severe concerns
  • new clients would have higher task and goal sub-scores than clients in therapy for more than fifteen sessions

The purpose of this research study was to correlate a client's sense of powerlessness with his compliance to a health care regime. From a population of patients of a family physician in a rural county in Northeast Mississippi, a sample of 30 individuals were given the Health Locus of Control tool and the Compliance tool. Of these 30, 23 met the qualifications and were included in the study.
