Families who care for children with neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) face many challenges and may be lacking support. The purpose of this project was to provide evidence-based information to families caring for NAS children through an established online support group, To the Moon and Back. Nola Pender’s Health Promotion Model was the theoretical model used to guide this project. An intervention to deliver support and information was implemented through three sessions. During these sessions participants were educated on evidenced-based tools to help their children with behavioral self- regulation and communication with providers. A growing opioid crisis in the United States has sparked a need for gender-specific research and treatment to address unmet needs and promote positive health outcomes for both women and children. The primary purpose of this research is to provide insight into the experiences and perceptions of postpartum women with substance use disorders receiving care at one residential treatment facility. This study describes some of the major physical and emotional occupational needs of menopausal women, and the direct impact this has on their relationships and overall well-being. The primary objective of this research project was to describe the life experiences of menopausal women and how various stressors affected their emotional, physical, and relational occupations. A descriptive grounded theory method was used to explore the stressors, their meanings, and the women’s unique perspectives of their menopausal experiences.
