Background: Pain and stress are symptoms experienced by many patients with cancer. Integrative therapies including energy therapies can help manage these symptoms. Jin Shin Jyutsu (JSJ) is one such energy therapy, but there is limited research regarding its utility on pain and stress for patients with cancer.

Many of these children are not developmentally mature enough to manage their disease process, leaving the parent of the chronically ill child to manage their disease. The introduction of chemotherapy in pediatric oncology tremendously impacted the survival of children with cancer. In the past 60 years, the survival rates of children with cancer have drastically improved with 5-year survival rates of the most common types of childhood cancer nearing 90%. Background: There are more than 1 million Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI) occurrences per year in the United States, with an estimated cost to treat of $400 million dollars annually (Clarke et al., 2013). Urinary Tract Infections are the most common hospital acquired infection, comprising roughly 30 - 40% of all infections occurring in acute care hospitals (Gould et al., 2009). The purpose of this project was to test the performance of albumin, NRI and MUST screening tools in comparison to the standardized measure of prealbumin among HF patients admitted to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Inclusion criteria included all HF patients with the 428 diagnostic code, admitted from January 1, - December 31, 2013, ages 18 and older, with all laboratory values available specified in the data collection tool (Appendix A). Although there is an abundance of literature on the topics of prenatal anxiety, stress, depression, etc. during pregnancy, very little research has been conducted on the impact of prenatal anxiety on cesarean delivery and the studies which have been conducted have resulted in conflicting results. This study focused on prenatal anxiety in a clinical population, the characteristics of participants with reported high anxiety, and its association with cesarean deliveries. A pilot study was conducted that utilized focused patient interviews to determine patient barriers to and facilitators of screening colonoscopy. The interviews were transcribed and systematically analyzed to detect recurring patterns and themes related to screening colonoscopy completion or lack thereof. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize additional sample characteristics such as gender, education level, and income level. Among those who had received a screening colonoscopy (44%, 11 of 25), provider recommendation was the most influential factor for procedure completion, followed by the combination of provider plus family member recommendation. Diabetes is a growing health concern in the United States, with approximately 1.7 million new cases diagnosed yearly. A management option to help patients gain glycemic control is the participation in diabetes self-management education (DSME). DSME aims to teach patients how and why they need to perform self-care, and not solely rely on medications to manage diabetes. A literature review of 10 studies between 2007 and 2014 was conducted and found favorable health outcomes for participants of DSME.
