The purpose of this evidence-based practice (EBP) project was to increase early identification of depression through implementation of universal depression screening, and to implement management strategies to decrease symptoms of depression. This clinic inconsistently screened patients for PAD using the ankle-brachial index (ABI).

Methods: During a three-month period, 50 patients were screened using current American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology (AHA/ACC) screening guidelines for PAD using the Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) and the Edinburgh Claudication Questionnaire (ECQ).
