Background/Significance: Burnout syndrome negatively impacts healthcare systems via quality reduction of patient care and communication, increased medical errors, hospital-acquired infections, staffing shortages, and costly malpractice suits (De Hert, 2020). Background: Chronic musculoskeletal pain was a significant problem in this primary care clinic. A total of 75% of the primary care providers (PCPs) agreed to consider an alternative treatment for chronic pain and Intermittent fasting (IF) was introduced as an option.

Background: Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is one of the most effective pharmacological therapies for opioid dependence. Regular urine drug screening to include random urine drug screens at least once a month is a key factor in improving quality care for those receiving treatment in an outpatient MAT clinic.

Problem: A rural outpatient MAT clinic has a current random urine policy that is not being utilized when treating clients with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). Seclusion and restraints are intended to be used as a last resort intervention if a patient presents as harmful to themself or others. However, the use of seclusion and restraints in mental health practice has been questioned for several decades. A 26-year study that researched restraint-related fatalities among children and adolescents in the United States from 1993 to 2018 disclosed 79 deaths (Nunno et al., 2022). Background: Central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) is the most common healthcare-acquired infection in pediatrics. A pediatric acute care facility in Kentucky created a specialized care team in an effort to track CLABSI bundle compliance and reduce central line infections. BACKGROUND: While postpartum depression (PPD) is a significant problem in the postpartum population, emerging literature suggests that PPD is disproportionately concentrated and underdiagnosed among mothers of infants admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Clarifying the requirements for hepatitis B vaccination, testing, and tuberculosis testing was paramount for clinical compliance because the current policy was determined to be ambiguous. C. difficile colonization is more common than infection. The purpose of this DNP quality improvement project was to decrease patient falls on a 21-bed step-down telemetry unit in a Kentucky metropolitan hospital. This project implemented proactive toileting in conjunction with purposeful hourly nursing rounds. A pre-education survey was given one week before the education module, and a post-education survey was provided six weeks after the education module was opened. In response to the urgent need for mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinics, the Kentucky Nurses Association (KNA) developed a standardized training program aimed at equipping nurse leaders with the necessary tools and resources for safe and efficient vaccine administration, free of vaccination errors, during mobile vaccination clinics. The purpose of this study was to assess the process effectiveness of the training program as perceived by team leaders and evaluate the number and types of vaccination errors during these clinics. Restraints are widely used on inpatient psychiatric units when psychiatric patients exhibit escalating behaviors. Physical restraints, including seclusion, increase patients’ risk for injury and psychological trauma. Acute inpatient psychiatric units should aim to use restraints only as a last resort and for as little time as possible to keep the patient and others safe.
