Swallowing disorders are prevalent in tracheostomized patients and are associated with a high incidence of aspiration. This narrative review discusses the primary causes and subsequent management strategies for dysphagia in this population. Factors such as reduced laryngeal elevation, compromised hypopharyngeal and laryngeal sensations, impaired vocal cord function, loss of glottic airflow and subglottic pressure, weakened cough reflex, increased respiratory secretions, and disuse muscle atrophy have been identified as major contributors. These challenges can lead to severe complications, including aspiration pneumonia and respiratory failure. The purpose of this study was to identify graduate students' perceptions of facilitators and barriers to learning interprofessional practice using phenomenology. Methods: This research is a retrospective observational study. We sampled data from a nationally representative sample of 1,000,000 enrollees of the single-payer government-based National Health Insurance (NHI) program in Taiwan from 1996 to 2013. Background: This study examined the efficacy of a home-based Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (CI Therapy) protocol with eight poststroke survivors.

Method: Eight ABA, single case experiments were conducted in the homes of poststroke survivors. The intervention comprised restraint of the intact upper limb in a mitt for 21 days combined with a home-based and self-directed daily activity regime.
