Homoeopathic Management Of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome – A Case Series, Sonia Raizada

Introduction: Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder in females of the reproductive age group. It is characterised by menstrual irregularities, enlarged ovaries, infertility, high levels of male hormones, excess hair on the face and body, acne and obesity. PCOS can result from abnormal function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis. Women with PCOS have an increased risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and endometrial cancer.

Case Summary: A case series of seven PCOS patients treated with indicated constitutional homoeopathic medicines at Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, New Delhi, India, is presented here. Overall improvement …

Introduction: Schizophrenia is a complex, progressive and severe mental disorder characterised by distortions in thinking, perception, emotions, language, sense of self and behaviour. Conventional medication and cognitive behaviour therapy are used in the treatment of schizophrenia. Homoeopathy can also offer promising results in schizophrenia as evident from the previous studies. Case Summary: Five patients reported at the outpatient department of National Homoeopathy Research Institute in Mental Health, Kerala, India, with symptoms of schizophrenia were treated with individualised homoeopathic medicine as an add-on therapy to conventional medicines. Gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB) can occur in patients after left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation. In cases of recurrent GIB, the management of anticoagulation treatment represents a challenging situation in which the risk of bleeding recurrence and the need for long-term anticoagulation must be balanced. This case series describes the successful management of anticoagulation in three patients with recurrent GIB using fondaparinux.

To our knowledge, these are the first reported cases of recurrent GIB in which a single dose of subcutaneous fondaparinux was used instead of oral anticoagulation. None of the patients presented with signs of pump thrombosis or arterial embolism. …
