Sebanyak 15 …

Abstract
Acupuncture is an complementary form of medicine that has relatively recently become a component of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It involves the application of thin needles at specific points throughout the body, although initially, general areas instead of points were used. There are estimated to be about 395 different points that can be utilized, and the technique behind using these points can vary widely between practitioners. In addition to acupuncture points, TCM is said to use meridians or pathways along with qi, or energy flows. In terms of acupunctures’ utility, it has been known to treat a variety of …

The Metabolic Cost Of Pushing Versus Carrying A Golfbag, Leilani Mcdaniel, Edward Merritt, Scott P. Mclean
The Metabolic Cost Of Pushing Versus Carrying A Golfbag, Leilani Mcdaniel, Edward Merritt, Scott P. Mclean
International Journal of Exercise Science: Conference Proceedings
The two most common non-motorized methods for transporting golf clubs in recreational and amateur golf are carrying a double strap bag or pushing a wheeled cart. The transportation method of golf clubs can have a direct impact on the necessary metabolic, musculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory requirements of golf performance. PURPOSE: To compare the metabolic cost of pushing versus carrying a golf bag. METHODS: Twenty two participants (18 Male, 3 Female, 24.2±8.9 yrs, 176.6±14.5 cm, and 76.2±14.5 kg) were recruited for one session in which they walked one mile while carrying and one mile while pushing a 25lb golf bag (determined as …

Risk Analysis Of Job Stress Among Balinese Crew Of Cruise Ships, Made Adhyatma Prawira Natha Kusuma, Indri Hapsari Hapsari Susilowati
National Journal of Occupational Health and Safety
Job stress can appear in all fields of work. Job stress not only occurs from the environment at work but also can be caused by the psychological condition of the workers. Working on a cruise ship demands higher patience to serve the guests in various activities and handle complaints. Moreover, work on cruise ships causes the workers separated from their families for a long time period, which can increase their mental pressure. The aim of this research is to describe the job stress of workers at a cruise ship. This research was conducted in January-June 2017. In an attempt to …

Can The Forward-Step-Down Test Be Used Reliably In The Clinical Setting To Assess Movement Changes Resulting From Maximal Exertion? A Pilot Study, Erin Mccallister, Daniel W. Flowers
Internet Journal of Allied Health Sciences and Practice
Introduction: Visual assessment of lower extremity mechanics is used frequently in clinical practice, and objective scoring of the visual assessment is beneficial to improve objectivity of patient evaluation. In addition, lower extremity mechanics change with fatigue and these changes may increase the risk of lower extremity injury. The Forward-Step-Down Test (FSDT) is one such objective tool, but its ability to detect changes in movement quality in response to exertion are not known. Methods: This study utilized a repeated-measures design, where the participants were scored on the FSDT before performing the Bruce protocol for an exertion stimulus. The participants were re-scored …

Plyometric Training For Young Male Field Hockey Players, Vijaya Krishnan, Twincy Rajawadha
Internet Journal of Allied Health Sciences and Practice
Background: Field hockey is a team sport requiring a combination of skill set to enhance a player’s performance. Power, Fitness and Agility are few such basic parameters. Newer training protocols are constantly explored to achieve the desired effect and plyometrics is one such method. It is also important to know how long lasting the effects of training are. Methodology: Fifty (50) male field hockey players at interschool and zonal level participated in the study. These sports specific parameters - lower limb power, fitness level and agility - were tested using the vertical jump test, 40-metre sprint test, and shuttle cross …
