Maddy is a child with a rare disease called Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood (AHC). Certain triggers like heat and stress cause her to become partially or totally paralyzed and experience painful neck spasms called dystonia. Her disease is so rare that little is known about it to this day. Further research would help improve the quality of life of Maddy and other children living with AHC. In Cooperstown, New York, the halls of the National Baseball Hall of Fame are drenched in timeless jerseys, oil-stained gloves, and an array of tarnished bats donned by the heroes of the sport. While some of these idols ended their careers with a tip of the cap, carrying their achievements proudly, enshrined in statues and plaques, others may have not been so lucky.
