This publication is a revision of Ixodid Ticks of Japan, Korea, and the Ryukyu Islands by Keegan and Toshioka (1957). The tick fauna of these areas is represented by 36 species in the genera Argas, Ornithodoros, Amblyomma, Boophilus, Dermacentor, Haemaphysalis, Ixodes, and Rhipicephalus. Three species of the family Argasidae and 10 species of Ixodidae were not treated in the original edition. The additional information contained in this revision was derived from field collections and a thorough review of the literature. Keys are provided for the identification of genera and species.
