Jefferson Clinical Research Institute Posters

Purpose

Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) is a rapidly growing, geographically dispersed academic healthcare system. Research personnel must navigate essential resources and services buried within a multitude of siloed platforms and websites. Jefferson Clinical Research Institute (JCRI) provides centralized support to research personnel and investigators and recognizes the need to efficiently connect staff with these resources. TJU launched a new platform that allows employees to access benefits information, payroll, time-off, and mandatory learning. This platform also features virtual “communities” designed for networking and sharing information. JCRI created one such community to link personnel with resources and services (Figure1). Nexus Maximus

The third day of Nexus Maximus was spent working on our poster and getting our final ideas together to present the pitch to our audience. We all worked side by side in one of the DEC classrooms working on putting our thoughts into bullet points and developing the graphics for the board. My group member and I went to the poster workshop and got inspired to create the board layout. House Staff Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Conference (2016-2019)

In this study we conducted an analysis of 22 inpatients with an eGFR<20 that revealed there was a greater prevalence of patients without permanent AV access for HD initiation when compared to national data. These findings demonstrated the need for improved transitions of care and timely creation of AV access for this patient population, thus we sought to improve this. This is the first inpatient initiative that our group is aware with the aim of improving timely AV access and transitions of care for an inpatient population (Figure 1).
