Survival And Growth Of Common Carp (Cyprinus Carpio L.) Exposed To Different Water Ph Levels, Mohammad Saeed Heydarnejad

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

The aim of the present study was to examine the survival and growth performance of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) in water with different pH values. Carp (17.8 ± 1.21 cm; 52.14 ± 7.13 g) were transferred to 21 tanks previously adjusted with 7 different pH values: 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, 7.5, 8.0, 8.5, and 9.0. Each value had 3 replicates, and all experiments lasted for 21 days. The survival and growth of carp were assessed at days 7, 14, and 21. At the end of the 21 days, greater weight, length, survival, and biomass were found for pH values of …

Effect Of Dietary Energy Intake And Somatotropin Administration After Weaning On Growth Rate And Semen Characteristics Of Granadina Goat Bucks, Miguel Mellado, Cesar A. Meza-Herrera, Jose R. Arevalo, Jose E. Garcia, Francisco G. Veliz Jan 2012

Effect Of Dietary Energy Intake And Somatotropin Administration After Weaning On Growth Rate And Semen Characteristics Of Granadina Goat Bucks, Miguel Mellado, Cesar A. Meza-Herrera, Jose R. Arevalo, Jose E. Garcia, Francisco G. Veliz

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

Twenty-eight growing Granadina goat bucks, divided into 4 groups of 7, in a 2 × 2 factorial arranged design, were used to study the effect of post-weaning levels of dietary energy and administration of recombinant bovine somatotropin (rbST) on growth and semen characteristics. Every 14 days, bucks were offered sustenance at rates of either 1.0 (standard diet, 2.36 Mcal EM kg^{-1}; 15% CP) or 1.25 (increased diet, 2.95 Mcal EM kg^{-1}; 18% CP) times the requirements for growth energy and protein, for a total of 99 days and in combination with or without subcutaneous administration of 125 mg rbST. The …

Effects Of Canola Meal On Growth And Digestion Of Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus Mykiss) Fry, Nalan Özgür Yi̇ği̇t, Seval Bahadir Koca, Hali̇t Bayrak, Ari̇fe Dulluç, İbrahi̇m Di̇ler Jan 2012

Effects Of Canola Meal On Growth And Digestion Of Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus Mykiss) Fry, Nalan Özgür Yi̇ği̇t, Seval Bahadir Koca, Hali̇t Bayrak, Ari̇fe Dulluç, İbrahi̇m Di̇ler

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

A 12-week feeding trial was conducted with rainbow trout fry (initial weight of 1.57 ± 0.01 g) to examine the effects of partial substitution of canola meal in prepared diets on growth, feed conversion ratio (FCR), nutrient digestibility, somatic indices, and survival rate. Five isonitrogenous (44% crude protein) and isocaloric (4000 kcal/kg digestible energy) diets were formulated to contain 8%, 16%, 24%, and 32% canola meal against no canola meal (control group). A total of 375 rainbow trout were distributed into 5 experimental groups with 3 replicates. At the end of the experiment, the fish that were fed diets containing …
