Background/aim: This mini-review aims at summarising and discussing previous and recent findings concerning the clinical manifestations, therapeutic management, and outcome of SARS-CoV-2 associated rhabdomyolysis. Materials and methods: Literature search in the PubMed database by applying appropriate search terms. Results: A total of 26 articles reporting SARS-CoV-2 associated rhabdomyolysis in 32 patients were identified. Age ranged from 16 to 80 years. Four patients were female and 25 were male. Onset of rhabdomyolysis was prior to onset of COVID-19 in 7 patients, and after onset of COVID-19 in the remaining patients. Exposure to myotoxic medication was identified in 18 patients. Background/aim: Since the outbreak of the COVID-19, numerous therapies to counteract this severe disease have emerged. The benefits of Tocilizumab for severely infected COVID-19 patients and the methodologies of ongoing clinical trials are explored. Materials and methods: A systematic search adhering to PRISMA guidelines was conducted in PubMed, Cochrane Central, medRxiv, and bioRxiv using the following keywords: "Tocilizumab," "Actemra," "COVID-19." An additional subsearch was conducted on Clinicaltrials.gov to locate ongoing tocilizumab trials. Results: A total of 13 studies were included in the meta-analysis comprising 2120 patients. Background/aim: The aim of this descriptive article is to share the experience in Ege University, Turkey with favipiravir in the treatment of severe SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia. Materials and methods: This retrospective descriptive study included patients diagnosed with COVID-19 who presented with or developed severe pneumonia. Results: Forty patients who completed a full course (at least 5 days) of favipiravir were included in the study. At baseline, 30 (75%) patients required treatment for respiratory distress. Background/aim: The aim of this research is to evaluate the relationship between the quality of health and accreditation standards with the Covid-19 process and to reveal the importance of quality and accreditation in health care in the process of combating coronavirus. Materials and methods: The relationship between hospital accreditation standards of Turkish Healthcare Quality and Accreditation Institute and the Covid-19 process was evaluated. Background/aim: Coronavirus Infectious Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is now a pandemic spreading in most countries including Turkey. Materials and methods: The current knowledge of COVID-19 and the virus causing it, SARS-CoV-2, was reviewed. The epidemiology and control in different countries was compared and the differences discussed. Results: The population attack rates and case fatality rates vary from country to country with Lombardy in northern Italy reporting an attack rate in the general population of 0.37% compared to 0.004% in Hong Kong.
