The purpose of this study was to investigate stress and job burnout among hospital administrators in the greater St. Louis area. The General Hypothesis were formulated. Five ( 5) sub-hypothesis were tested. The infant mortality statistics in any country reflect the social and economic well-being of its citizens. In the United States the infant mortality rate is regarded as a key indicator of the level of health of the population and by implication, as a measure of the effectiveness of the nation's health delivery system. Further , it is believed by some that infant mortality is the single most important public health problem in this country.
