In recent years, the United States (U.S.) has seen an influx of Hispanic/Latino migrants/ immigrants fleeing their homes in South America, seeking opportunities for a better life in the U.S. Immigrants and their families often present to the U.S. with unique, unmet health care needs that ultimately impact the U.S. healthcare system and migrant health outcomes. Fruit And Vegetable Availability, Nutrition Education And Access Amongst Food Pantries In California, Maine, Mississippi And South Dakota, Sarah L. Fowler

This descriptive study explored the views of food pantry directors in four states regarding pantry fruit and vegetable stock and supply, nutrition education offered, and current practices and perceived barriers to providing access to food pantries to low-income individuals and families in need. This study examined these variables by surveying staff at the food pantries who have direct contact with the individuals and families who utilize the pantries. All survey responses were collected utilizing Qualtrics software and then analyzed in SPSS. There were 87 respondents from four different states, California, Maine, Mississippi, and South Dakota.

The Counseling Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato offers mental health counseling services to MNSU students that are free, confidential, and conveniently located on campus. Despite the range of services, the affordability and confidentiality, as well as current marketing strategies used by the Counseling Center, services appear to be significantly underutilized by students on campus. This study examines student perceptions of on campus mental health services and barriers that may prevent students from accessing services. The goal of the project is to assist the Counseling Center in improving their marketing strategies to students identified as being underserved.

This study included two purposes. The first purpose of this study was to compare undergraduate students' knowledge and perceptions related to first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) according to their level of first aid and CPR training. The second purpose of this study was to compare the students' perceptions of access to emergency medical services (EMS) by the geographic location of their hometown. A quantitative survey was distributed to students enrolled in three HLTH 101: Health and Environment classes in Spring, 2013.
