BACKGROUND: College basketball is an intense team sport that utilizes both the aerobic and anaerobic energy systems to play a 40-minute-long game and cover around 2-3 miles on average per game (Narazaki et al 2009). The high workloads can lead to fatigue, which increases injury risk (Garbenytė-Apolinskienė et al 2019).
