Background:
Low back pain (LBP) is pain that is felt in the lower back area, namely between the corners of the lowest ribs and the lower buttocks (lumbar or lumbo-sacral area) and can be local pain or radiate to the upper thighs/legs or both. Low back pain is a 10% debilitating condition that results in a change in life expectancy due to disability. Low back pain is not a malignancy and is a self-limiting condition, but patients always seek treatment to reduce the severity of their symptoms. Chronic Low Back Pain can alter lifestyle and increase the rate of prolonged …

This article aims to evaluate the Effectiveness of Blood Flow Restriction Exercise in Improving Quadriceps Strength in Patients with ACL Reconstruction. This project is a literature study in narrative form. The background for conducting this research is the high incidence of ACL tears, ranging from 78 to 81 cases per 100,000 population worldwide in a year. The most common surgical treatment provided is ACL reconstruction. Quadriceps strength reduction after 6 months post-operation reaches 20% compared to pre-operation. From the symptoms and clinical complaints of quadriceps muscle weakness, one of the interventions that can be performed is Blood Flow Restriction …

Subjek …

Leg power training is defined as a movement to get the jump in athletes doing the maximum jump smash. Badminton requires leg muscle explosive power because it is the muscle's ability to overcome loads and with a high speed of contraction. This study aims to determine differences in the effect of jump to box training, a combination of core plank knee to elbow on increasing leg power in badminton athletes. This study used an experimental design method with a pre-test and post-test design. The treatment group was given the Jump To Box Combination Core Plank Knee To Elbow exercise. The …

Jurnal Fisioterapi Terapan Indonesia or Indonesian Journal of Applied Physiotherapy
Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction is a surgical procedure involving the grafting of the ACL using tendon tissue. This procedure aims to restore knee stability and joint fixation following an ACL injury. Post-ACL reconstruction often leads to complications such as pain, edema, reduced range of motion, and muscle weakness. The physiotherapy program in this case aims to evaluate the effects of physiotherapy interventions, including quadriceps setting, hamstring setting, straight leg raise (SLR), heel slide, ankle pumping, bridging, and prone hang exercises, in reducing edema and pain, as well as improving the range of motion and muscle strength in the knee …

Stroke is a sudden neurological disorder caused by vascular injury to the brain, leading to significant functional limitations. This case study examines the use of occupational therapy interventions, specifically the Bobath and Task Oriented approaches, for a 43-year-old male with left hemiparesis to enhance independence in motorcycling. The patient experienced various limitations, including vestibular function, range of motion, muscle tone and strength, postural control, and fine motor skills. Using the Ashworth scale and the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) for assessment, occupational therapy interventions showed progress in several aspects, although the primary goal has not yet been fully achieved. Jurnal Fisioterapi Terapan Indonesia or Indonesian Journal of Applied Physiotherapy
Cerebral palsy (CP) is a condition of movement and function disorders in children that requires continuous physiotherapy. One factor in the successful development of children with CP is the existence of a home program/independent therapy carried out by parents at home. In providing the home program, physiotherapists at YPCP Surabaya gave leaflets to parents. However, this was less effective because it was easily damaged, so the home program media was replaced with video. The effectiveness of both in increasing parental compliance in carrying out the home program every day is not yet known. Objective: to find out the difference in …

Reproductive health for adolescents with disabilities is often disregarded, and education on personal hygiene is insufficient because some people perceive menstruation as a sensitive topic and have a false belief that adolescents with disabilities have no sexual desire. This study aimed to determine the overview of personal hygiene behavior among adolescents with physical and intellectual disabilities when facing menstruation. The method used was qualitative, with case studies, in-depth interviews, and observations for data collection. The informants comprised four adolescents aged 19-21 years, two mothers, and two therapists for special needs children. This study was conducted at two growth and development …

As age progresses, the elderly will experience a degenerative process which one of the impacts will cause a decrease in the ability to maintain balance in the elderly so that it will increase the risk of falling. To overcome this risk, it is necessary to give exercises to improve balance and muscle strength in lower extremity, one of which is step marching exercise. This exercise has alternating leg lifting movements by following a rhythm or beat. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of step marching exercise in reducing the risk of falls in the elderly. Method: …

ABSTRACT: Adhesive Capsulitis is a disorder that occurs in the shoulder area in the form of inflammation of the joint capsule which causes a feeling of stiffness and pain. Glenohumeral joint mobilization with the Maitland mobilization technique is using passive mobilization with physiological oscillatory movements which can produce a stretching effect and release of adhesive on the ligament capsule in the shoulder so that the range of motion of the shoulder joint can be increased. Hold relax is an exercise therapy with the principle of reciprocal inhibition which aims to improve antagonistic pattern relaxation, and mobilization, and to reduce pain. …

Cervical syndrome is a collection of symptoms, especially pain around the cervical spine. Pain in cervical syndrome is more common in conditions related to the deformity of the cervical vertebrae, one of which is a flat neck or conditions where cervical lordosis is reduced. When the lordosis curve disappears, the vertical load will be redistributed along the anterior portion of the cervical spine, causing pressure on soft tissue and surrounding bone. This can lead to various musculoskeletal problems. The combination of manual therapy and exercise is suggested to reduce problems such as pain, limitations of the range of motion (ROM), …
