Dental Morphometric Investigation On The Chinchilla (Chinchilla Lanigera) Using A Threedimensionalreconstruction Model, Sema Özkadi̇f, Emrullah Eken, Ayşe Haligür

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

The aim of this study was to reveal the morphometric characteristics of the teeth of the chinchilla (Chinchilla lanigera), which are both kept as pet animals and raised for the economic value of their fur, using three-dimensional (3D) reconstructions created from two-dimensional (2D) multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) images and to investigate whether there was a difference between the sexes. A total of 12 chinchillas of both sexes (six males and six females) were used. The teeth reconstructions of the animals were performed with Mimics. 14.1 3D modeling software on the 2D images was taken in the prone position. According to …

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

Glucocorticoids (GCs) play a critical function in neonatal lung growth and maturation though the long-term dose-dependent effects of GCs on lungs are still ambiguous. The purpose of the present study is to explore the morphologic and morphometric changes in broiler lungs in reaction to dietary GC. Day-old chicks (DOCs) were purchased and divided into four groups at random i.e. one control group (C) and three experimental groups (E1, E2, and E3). Commercial broiler feed was provided to both the control and experimental groups where the feed of the experimental groups contained GC, dexamethasone (DEX) at the rate of 3, 5, …

Is Condyle Morphology A Factor For Anterior Temporomandibular Disc Displacement?, İlkay Çamlidağ, Asli Tanrivermi̇ş Sayit, Muzaffer Elmali

Turkish Journal of Medical Sciences

Background/aim: To investigate morphological features of the mandibular condyle and its association with anterior temporomandibular disc displacement on sagittal oblique MRI plane. Materials and methods: One hundred and twenty patients with temporomandibular MRI examination were retrospectively involved in the study. Patients aged less than 18 years and those with severe osteoarthritis, posterior disk displacement, tumor, abscess, history of a rheumatic disease, facial trauma, and motion artifacts on images were excluded. Three radiologists evaluated all images in consensus. Temporomandibular disc locations were classified as normal, anteriorly displaced with reduction (ADr), and anteriorly displaced without reduction (ADwr) on sagittal oblique T1-weighted images. …
