Objectives The purpose of this study was to determine parental acceptability of the use of Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) as an alternative treatment for carious legions. In addition, we examined potential factors influencing higher levels of SDF acceptance. Methods Project was approved by the institutional review board. Parents of patients receiving care at Nova Southeastern University’s dental clinics were asked to review an educational document related to the use and side effects of SDF; surveys were then distributed to assess willingness to use this treatment for their child. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) affects a multitude of races and ethnicities as its impact varies from person to person. ASD is typically diagnosed around the age of two to three years old since signs and symptoms of Autism become clinically apparent at that time. Increased reporting of Autism in local communities has surged from diagnostic tools and criteria. Purpose: Disasters, such as the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, create significant disruptions for individuals and their communities. Understanding these disruptions is a first step towards planning for future events and disaster recovery. This research aims to explore how the initial COVID-19 restrictions, including lockdowns, impacted adults with Autism (ASD). Method: Using semi-structured interviews to understand how individuals with ASD experienced the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, twelve participants were interviewed: six individuals with ASD (ages 20-38), three parents of individuals with ASD, and three support staff for individuals with ASD.
