Dr. Franklin Shuler was a well-known Orthopaedic Surgeon amongst Marshall Health. He made breakthroughs in research, was a phenomenal mentor, and took care of his community and family.

For 4 years, Dr. Shuler fought HLH, a rare autoimmune disorder, that eventually took his life on January 5, 2020. He made his mark at the West Virginia School of Medicine being the first student to graduate with an M.D. and Ph. D with honors.
