Introduction: The present investigation highlights the formulation of buccoadhesive tablets of Ketotifen fumarate, a second-generation H1-antihistamine and mast cell stabilizer. The properties of Ketotifen may contribute to its antiallergic activity. Method: The mucoadhesive buccal tablets of Ketotifen fumarate were prepared by direct compression method using natural polymers like sodium alginate, xanthan gum, karaya gum, and gaur gum along with carbopol 934P in different ratios. Ethyl cellulose is used as a backing layer to promote the unidirectional flow of drugs in the buccal region.
