This course is an overview of the application of quality improvement (QI) in healthcare and public health settings. In both healthcare and public health, creating and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement is an essential component of an organization’s performance and is vital to achieving the Institute of Healthcare Improvement’s Triple Aim principles. After covering the history and theory of QI, this course introduces Lean, Six Sigma, and PDSA frameworks as well as the tools and techniques associated with the components of each.
