Background Data: Thoracic and thoracolumbar fractures are commonly provoked by axial compression which disrupts the anterior column. In this setting, posterior stabilization using pedicle screws alone may lead to delayed kyphosis and hardware failure due to inadequate anterior column support. Background Data: Percutaneous screws fixation became popular as it depends on minimal muscle destruction and no para-spinal muscle stripping. However, there is a lot of disadvantages of percutaneous fixation technique including the high radiation exposure. Complications reported in conventional midline approach including muscle stripping from lamina and spinous processes and long-term postoperative pain and muscle weakness led the spine surgeon to rediscover minimally invasive technique to manage spinal fractures through posterior approach. Background Data: Traumatic Odontoid Epiphysiolysis fractures, although rare in the overall incidence of spinal trauma, these fractures are one of the common fractures in young children. The appropriate treatment of this type of odontoid fractures remains controversial. The rarity of literature reports on these fractures and limited number of cases prevented the consensus on the optimal line of treatment.
