Small Intestinal Adenocarcinoma In A Dog: A Case Report, Saroj Chanyapat, Saravuth Konboon, Anudep Rungsipipat, Roongroje Thanawongnuwech

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

A9-year-old female Shih Tzu dog was presented with a 3-day history of anorexia, depression, vomiting, and watery diarrhea. The clinical symptoms progressed continuously until the dog died, 3 days after admission. At necropsy numerous white nodules of various sizes were found in the small intestine, particularly the ileum. Microscopically, the mass revealed diffused, infiltrative growth of a well-differentiated adenocarcinoma invading the submucosa and muscular layers of the small intestinal wall. The mass was characterized by an acinar or tubular pattern with mucin in the lumen. The tumor cells were atypical cuboidal pleomorphic columnar epithelial cells with hyperchromatic round medium-sized nuclei …

The serum of 66 dogs with intestinal parasites (showing gastrointestinal problems caused by taeniosis, coccidiosis, ancylostomosis, trichuriosis and ascarididosis) was examined by electrophoresis. There were 6 dogs with coccidiosis, 6 dogs with ancylostomosis, 6 dogs with trichuriosis, 24 dogs with taeniosis and 24 dogs with ascarididosis. After agar gel protein electorphoresis of the serum samples, ?1 globulin levels were significantly lower in the coccidiosis group than in the other groups (p

In this study, 6 six-week-old puppies born of a stray bitch were used. Four of them were 5 kg, one of them 7 kg and the last 8 kg. Before egg inoculation, fecal examination by flotation technique showed that the animals had no helminth infection. Each puppy was infected orally with 150 embriyonated Toxocara canis eggs. When the egg first seen in their faeces after inoculation, Moxidectin (Cytectin 1% inj) at a dose of 0.2 mg/kgbw was given subcutaneously. Fecal examinations were performed by flotation technique, on day-0 (treatment day), day-7, day-14 and day-21, and EPG values were calculated on …

Intracardiac blood pressure was determined in twenty-seven healthy adult mongrel dogs weighting 14-32 kg. Cardiac catheterization was used to measure intracardiac blood pressure. A Pingtail catheter was placed in the aorta and the left ventricle via the A. carotis communis, and a Swanz-Ganz catheter was placed in the right ventricle via the V. jugularis. End-systolic blood pressure was found to be 113±3.1 mm/Hg in the left ventricle 53±2.9 mm/Hg in the right ventricle, 3±2.5 mm/Hg in the left atrium, 3±1.3 mm/Hg in the right atrium and 127±3 mm/Hg in the aorta. In addition, times of contraction, relaxation, filling, pre-ejection and …

This study was carried out on 4 dogs with bilateral carpal hyperextension that treated in Ankara University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Orthopaedics and Traumatology Clinic. In clinical examination, it was found that the angle of the stepped carpal joints were between 250° and 270°. Furthermore, there were wounds at volar sites of carpal joints. There were no lesions seen radiographically. In 3 cases, total arthrodesis was made by applying a single Steinmann pine, passing intramedullary through metacarpus III, to os carpi centrale and radius, in one case total arthrodesis was made by applying three Steinmann pines passing through metacarpus 2, …
