Pet therapy is a complementary type of therapeutics in which a person and animal have a guided interaction with the purpose of helping someone cope with physical and/or mental illness. Animal-assisted therapy is used in numerous settings and has been shown to reduce stress, lower blood pressure and heart rate, and decrease anxiety and depression (Husson University, 2022). Cigarette smoking is the number one risk factor and is linked to 80-90% of lung cancer deaths.²
Low-dose Computerized Tomography has been shown to reduce lung cancer deaths by 20% in randomized control trials and observational studies.⁴
The U.S. Preventative Task Force recommends annual screening for lung cancer with low-dose computerized tomography (LDCT) in adults ages 55-80 years of age who:

Background: Yoga practice is commonly utilized by physical therapists in order to promote physical and mental health. In populations with a poorer prognosis, mindfulness and overall well-being becomes increasingly important. Introduction

• In 2016 ASCO recommended that patients with advanced cancer receive dedicated palliative care (PC) services1. Early PC involvement is associated with lower spending, fewer 30-day readmission rates, decreased chemotherapy administration at the end of life (EOL) and increased hospice referrals2.
• Many patients are not referred and continue to receive chemotherapy and utilize high-acuity services near the EOL.
• The Oncology Care Model (OCM) is a CMS episode-based alternative payment model promoting high-value care.
• We evaluated the effect of PC visits on EOL outcomes including code status (CS) and spending in the last 30 days of life.

The aim of this study is to observe cell proliferation, cell viability, apoptosis, and autophagy on acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cell lines, NB4 and U937, with the drug repurposing of mefloquine (MQ). Methods such as the 3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-Yl)-2,5-Diphenyltetrazolium Bromide (MTT) assay and trypan blue staining have shown a decrease in live cells with high concentrations of mefloquine. Using their average perspective IC50 values of MQ concentration, Western blotting was applied by means of apoptosis and autophagy markers to determine if the induction of apoptosis and inhibition of autophagy was present in MQ-treated AML cells. Physicians are "rotating" opioids to help reduce opioid side effects, and help increase pain response due to tolerance of another opioid. Methadone has been compared to other opioids in studies in which it has been rotated with another opioid. The studies compared the adverse effects, cost, and the rate of success to achieve adequate pain management.
