Burnout is the state of being emotionally and physically fatigued by some aspect of one's work leading to the loss of efficiency and productivity. Those employed in the helping profession are uniquely susceptible to burnout as the trials and tribulations of their clients confront them each day. Presented here is research into the possible causes of burnout. The purpose of this study was to determine if levels of burnout correlated with the number of months an individual had worked at the same agency.
