Emergency contraception (EC) is a common method of contraception that helps prevent ovulation before implantation of an egg inside a uterus. Among college students, EC can be utilized to prevent unplanned pregnancies that could potentially prevent someone from completing their degree. College students can face unique barriers when trying to access EC including transportation, privacy, financial, or mental/emotional barriers. The purpose of this study was to determine what barriers students at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) face when trying to access EC, and what future accommodations they would utilize if given the option.
