Comparison Of Anterior Denture Teeth Arrangements Made With The Tooth Mold Template And Definitive Computer-Aided Design & Computer-Aided Manufacturing Complete Removable Dental Prostheses, Jose Antonio Sierra

Master's Theses (2009 -)

Introduction: There is a dearth of information in the refereed literature regarding esthetics of CAD/CAM complete removable dental prostheses (CRDPs). The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the anterior denture teeth arrangement made with the medium-size anterior tooth mold template to CAD/CAM complete removable dental prostheses fabricated with bonded denture teeth and milled teeth. Material and methods: Poly-vinyl siloxane impression were made of an edentulous maxillary model and selected for use as the patient template. The edentulous model was mounted on a semi-adjustable articulator. Definitive impressions and jaw relation records were made according to the manufacturer’s protocol. …

Current methods in handling maxillofacial defects are not robust and are highly dependent on the surgeon’s skills and the inherent potential in the patients’ bodies for regenerating lost tissues. Employing custom-designed 3D printed scaffolds that securely and effectively reconstruct the defects by using tissue engineering and regenerative medicine techniques can revolutionize preprosthetic surgeries. Various polymers, ceramics, natural and synthetic bioplastics, proteins, biomolecules, living cells, and growth factors as well as their hybrid structures can be used in 3D printing of scaffolds, which are still under development by scientists. These scaffolds not only are beneficial due to their patient-specific design, but …

Evaluation Of Die Trim Morphology Made By Cad/Cam Technology, Pratiksha Agrawal

Master's Theses (2009 -)

Purpose: The purpose of this vitro study was to evaluate the accuracy of the morphology of digitally trimmed dies in comparison with the subgingival contour of a prepared tooth to be restored with a single crown. Materials and Methods: 20 human extracted teeth, 10 incisors and 10 molars were disinfected, mounted on dentoforms. The teeth were prepared for a single all ceramic restoration. Digital impressions of the preparations were made using the 3M Lava COS. With the data, the SLA models were fabricated with removable dies. The prepared tooth and the corresponding dies were then compared with the Rhino software. …
