Influence Of Free-End Distal Extension On The Accuracy Of Guided Implant Placement: An In Vitro Study, Geoffrey Ganzman Apr 2022

Influence Of Free-End Distal Extension On The Accuracy Of Guided Implant Placement: An In Vitro Study, Geoffrey Ganzman

Master's Theses (2009 -)

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of type of tooth-support (bounded edentulous space versus unbounded edentulous spaces) on the accuracy of fully-guided implant placement using static computer-assisted implant surgery (sCAIS) in partially-dentate patients. Methods: Four different clinical scenarios were simulated; (a) bounded single-tooth edentulous space (BES), and three different free-end distal extensions with (b) unbounded single-tooth edentulous space (UBES1), (c) unbounded two-teeth edentulous space (UBES2), and (d) unbounded three-teeth edentulous space (UBES3). An implant planning software was used to design 3D-printed stereolithographic surgical guides for the respective clinical scenarios. In total n=140 implants with dimensions …

The Influence Of The Operator Experience On The Accuracy Of Implant Placement: An In Vitro Study, Jeffrey Garcia Apr 2021

The Influence Of The Operator Experience On The Accuracy Of Implant Placement: An In Vitro Study, Jeffrey Garcia

Master's Theses (2009 -)

Purpose: The aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of operator experience in the fully guided placement of implants in dentate patients. Methods: Three different providers with different level of experience in implant surgery (unexperienced, moderate experienced = 2 years of experience, and experienced = more than 5 years of experience in implant surgery) placed each n=20 implants fully guided or free hand in identical replicas, produced from a CBCT of a partially edentulous patient case. The achieved implant position was digitized by using a laboratory scanner and compared with the planned position. Trueness (planned versus actual position) …

Efficacy Of Invisalign: A Retrospective Case Series Of Intrusion, Extrusion, And Rotation With Trend Analysis, Kirsten Karkow Jul 2020

Efficacy Of Invisalign: A Retrospective Case Series Of Intrusion, Extrusion, And Rotation With Trend Analysis, Kirsten Karkow

Master's Theses (2009 -)

Objective: To quantify efficacies and discrepancies of Invisalign® treatment of anterior intrusions, anterior extrusions, and incisor, canine and premolar rotations with correlations to age, gender, tooth, attachment, interproximal reduction, number of aligners, treatment time, and start date. Methods: Initial, progress, and final iTero® scans of patients treated with Invisalign® in the graduate Marquette University Orthodontics Clinic (Milwaukee, WI) were retrieved along with corresponding ClinChecks® as .stl files. These three-dimensional files were superimposed for best-fit using SlicerCMF4-0 software. A total of 67 anterior intrusions ≥ 0.5 mm, 39 anterior extrusions ≥ 0.5 mm, and 98 incisor, canine and premolar rotations ≥ …
