The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a diabetes education program on self-efficacy and readmission rates of diabetic patients. All participants were recruited based on their current enrollment with one of the largest primary care physician's practices in the Southeastern United States. Qualifying criteria included the diagnosis of being either diabetic type I or II and commitment to attend a five-week diabetes educational workshop.
