The combination of inadequate health literacy and medication nonadherence of hypertensive adult patients has been a major cause of uncontrolled hypertension. Several studies suggested inadequate or incorrect knowledge of medications in hypertensive adult patients was correlated with non-adherence to their antihypertensive medications.
