Patients with extrapelvic endometriosis present with nontraditional symptoms, making it difficult to identify and diagnose. This article synthesizes the most current information on the diagnosis and management of bowel endometriosis for providers, to help identify these symptoms, describe the most sensitive diagnostic tools, and educate on up-to-date treatments, including medical management, surgical resection, and high-frequency ultrasound ablation.
